Dining

Babel

Housed in the old cow shed, Babel Restaurant is a wonderful mix of Cape Dutch architecture and contemporary glass walls that makes for a simple yet edgy environment in which to try tasty yet often unconventional combinations. Babylonstoren has a farm-to-fork philosophy which means they serve food that is seasonal and that reflects their “pick, clean and serve” approach.

Greenhouse

At the rear of the garden, tucked away between the oak trees, the Greenhouse offers guests a wonderful refreshment station after their walk through the garden. All our food is served picnic-style in wooden crates with the preserves, jams and salads served in weck jars, while fresh bread from our wood-fired oven come wrapped in the iconic blue-and-white Babylonstoren paper.

Bakery

By day, the Bakery supplies our Farm Shop and restaurants with freshly baked breads but by night, this space is transformed into a true celebration of La Dolce Vita! For dinners in the Bakery, we serve our food family style – guests dish up for themselves from wooden boards placed on their table while sipping on wine and enjoying the lively atmosphere. Dinner is served from 19h00 and reservations are essential.

Spice Garden

The new Spice Garden for special group menu bookings at Babylonstoren Farm is situated adjacent to the Healing Garden near the Greenhouse. It tells the story of the spice trade with the East, and exhibits the main spices that were traded on these long sea journeys. Included are various aromatic plants used in food, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, greater galangal, ginger, turmeric and black pepper.

Tasting Room

Babylonstoren sits at the heart of the wine country, with Simonsberg as backdrop and possibly the finest terroir in the Cape.
