GUIDE AND DRIVER POLICY

Private vehicle and driver are at your disposal as described in the itinerary. A day with your vehicle is generally 10:00 AM-6:00 PM. Private local guide from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM as described. A half-day is 4 hours.

Unless you have a vehicle with driver on disposal for full day, please respect the timings stated in the itinerary. Should you be late for 15 minutes or more on a local or airport transfer, the transfer will be considered as cancelled. In that case you should take care of your transfer at your own cost.

MEALS

No meals included, other than breakfast as described above (if not described different in “rate includes”).

RESTAURANT RESERVATIONS

Unless you plan to eat at Michelin star restaurants or want to schedule a special event meal, we highly recommend you make reservations via your hotel concierge or reception the day of or day before your intended meal. After lots of exploring we have found that it is best to not over plan meals, but rather wait to see how you are feeling and then reserve. Your hotel concierge/reception will be more than happy to assist you and may even have some good suggestions in addition to our own list of establishments. Your local guides are also great resources for up-to-date information about dining and entertainment.

BAGGAGE

The vehicles reserved for your itinerary can accommodate 1 x medium-sized suitcase and 1 x carry-on per person. If you intend to travel with additional luggage, please advise your travel consultant so appropriate arrangements may be made.

SIGHTSEEING

Sightseeing arrangements have been made with your special interests in mind. Your drivers and guides are at your disposal for full or half-day sightseeing programs as indicated in the itinerary (if not described differently). Within those time and mileage guidelines, your driver and guide are at your disposal, so you are free to modify your program as you please. Should you require additional time or mileage, the costs will be quoted on request and may be paid for locally in the local currency or Euro. Every effort has been made to confirm that scheduled sightseeing venues will be open at the time you plan to visit them. However, individual estates, museums, gardens and other points of interest can change their hours of operation at short notice. If an attraction is closed on the day or time of your visit, your guide will offer alternative arrangements or rearrange your sightseeing to accommodate these unexpected events. Also, Calvados Club retains the right to change the local provider (such as wineries, local rural estates etc.) due to unexpected circumstances and will offer an alternative during your sightseeing.

RATE CHANGE

Please note that the rate is quoted based on a specifically indicated number of persons. If, by any chance, the number of persons travelling changes, please note that the rate will change accordingly. For example, if you have a per person rate for 4 pax travelling together, this per person rate will be higher if only 3 pax travel. So please contact your travel consultant for a new quote if the number of persons travelling changes at any moment of your planning process.

OPTIONAL EXPENSES

Charges for extra meals, transport, sightseeing services or other optional additions to your established itinerary are your responsibility and must be paid locally in the local currency.

GRATUITIES GUIDELINES

Gratuities are not included in your tour price. Please note that gratuities are not mandatory and it is solely at your discretion. However, general guidelines are below:

- Drivers – anything is appreciated for the airport transfers, 10 – 15 € per person per day for half day, 15 – 20 € per person per day for full day

- Boat Captain – 25 – 35 € per person per day

- Restaurants – 10 % on the bill

- Cafes and bars – rounding up the bill is fine


DINING WITH YOUR GUIDE

On days when dinner and lunch costs have not been included in your itinerary (or in your tour cost), you may, at your discretion, choose to invite your guide to dine with your party. You are under no obligation to do so but, if you do extend such an invitation, the guide is your guest and you will be responsible for the cost of his/her meal.

PAYMENT

Calvados Club must receive a deposit of 20% of the total program cost before reservations for your independent travel program can be initiated. The balance of payment is due 45 days prior to arrival. No reservations are made on your behalf until this deposit has been received. Availability and pricing is subject to change until this deposit is received. All deposits are non-refundable.

By paying requested deposit or total amount the client excepts CALVADOS CLUB SPECIAL TRAVEL TERMS AND CONDITIONS as well as CALVADOS CLUB GENERAL BUSINESS TERMS AND CONDITIONS and this document becomes valid contract between two parties.

CANCELLATION

Written cancellations received less than 45 days prior to arrival are subject to the following forfeit of tour cost

  • • up to 45 days prior to arrival, 20 % of the total tour cost
  • • 45 – 30 days prior to arrival, 30% of total tour cost
  • • 30 – 21 days prior to arrival, 50% of total tour cost
  • • 21 or less days prior to arrival, 100% of tour cost


REFUNDS

We regret that refunds cannot be issued for arrangements confirmed on your itinerary but unused once your tour has begun.

INSURANCE

In case of cancellation, whether for private reasons or force majeure, Calvados Club cannot be held responsible and cannot process any refunds. Calvados Club strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance to protect your investment. COVID 19 EXCEPTION:

In case of cancelation up to 14 days prior to arrival related to COVID-19 travel restrictions (travel ban and/or lockdown) in the country of origin or destination country, Calvados Club will refund 95% of total program cost. Planning fee of 5% of total program cost will be kept for administrative expenses.

In case of positive PCR test for COVID-19 immediately prior to arrival, or requested isolation in the country of origin, Calvados Club cannot be held responsible nor process any refunds. Calvados Club strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance to protect yourself from such outcome.

PRICES AND ARRANGEMENTS

Once an itinerary is finalized and final payment has been made, a 50.00 Euro revision fee will be charged if the itinerary is changed. The tour price includes planning, handling and operational charges. Rates are quoted in EURO on the current rate of exchange and tariff as of January 2021. Any extra car, driver, guide services or entrance tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase.

Daily itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival into Split airport, flight details TBA. Meet your driver for a private transfer to Split and your hotel – Park. Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Split.

Day 2:

Meet your local guide for a private walking tour of Split, followed by special lunch (6 h). The unique 1700-year-old town of Split features a living monument of the Diocletian’s Palace, included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. A walk with your guide reveals the layers of history on every step and every magnificent landmark. The majestic square of Peristil rises above the mysterious Substructures of the Palace; pretty Venetian palazzi encircle lively squares, while the colourful green market and a relaxing waterfront promenade create a cozy living room for the locals… Afterwards your guide and driver will transfer you to your special lunch venue on the slopes of Kozjak Mountain.

Day 3:

This morning meet your driver for a private transfer to the port where your private motorboat awaits. Hop onboard and enjoy private island-hopping tour around the most beautiful Dalmatian islands. Your first destination would be the island of Vis – a quintessential Mediterranean experience. Enjoy your cruise into the open sea to the lesser-known islands of unspoiled beauty. Visit the tiny Bisevo, which hides a unique natural curiosity – the surreal Blue Grotto. This secluded cave has an underwater opening where the sunlight gets in and illuminates the cave with shimmering blue colors. Enjoy magical settings of this rare natural phenomenon in a short but sweet rowboat tour. Get a speedy VIP access in the grotto so you can skip the lines and make the most of your day!

Your sea adventure continues on the rugged shores of Vis Island. A Greek colony of Issa in the 4th century BC, Vis had a long and tumultuous past. In the recent history, it served as an army base of Yugoslavia and was closed for visitors until 1989. The isolation preserved the island’s traditional way of life so its natural beauties remained intact. For those seeking authenticity, relaxation, secluded beaches and seafood delights, Vis is unmistakably a great finding.

Later today you will cruise to Hvar Island. Upon arrival check into the heritage hotel Palace Elisabeth and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Hvar.

Day 4:

Meet your local guide at the hotel for a private tour of Hvar (4 h). Begin with a walk around Hvar town, boasting with Mediterranean lushness, glitzy nightlife and impressive cultural legacy.

In the historic settings of the main square admire Venetian-style palaces and grand edifices. The most impressive is the Cathedral of St. Stephen, whose graceful bell tower adorns the town’s skyline. In the imposing Arsenal discover Europe’s oldest public theatre, dating from 1612. For breathtaking views, go up to the Hvar Fortress. The 16th century citadel is perched on a hill above the ramparts and offers awe-inspiring vistas of Hvar and nearby islands.

Then transfer to the abandoned village of Malo Grablje. Deserted by its residents in the 1960s in favor of Milna, today it’s a quirky open-air museum of a world gone by. However, you will not be totally alone! Your host Berti is a local that owns a small stone-built house in this forgotten village. Here he will make a traditional, tavern-style lunch for you. Enjoy local cuisine and a touch of the past before transferring back to Hvar town.

This afternoon enjoy a cruise around Pakleni Islands (4 h), a chain of eleven playful islets watching over the Hvar port. The stunning archipelago with intact nature and sapphire waters is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Enjoy the azure waves, beautiful coves surrounded by pine forests and gentle breeze scented by aromatic herbs. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Hvar.

Day 5:

Meet your skipper at the hotel for a private motorboat transfer to Korcula Island (app 2 h). En-route cruise around charming Scedro Island and stop for a swim in one of the gorgeous beaches on Korcula Island. Upon arrival check into the exclusive boutique property of Lesic Dimitri Palace.

Later today meet a local guide for a private walking tour of Korcula town (1,5 h).

In the quaint Museum of Icons discover the unique collection of Byzantine Icons and ceremonial pieces, collected by 17th and 18th century Korcula sailors on their journeys around the world. Meet your skipper at the hotel for a private motorboat transfer to Dubrovnik (8 h). On the way, stop to explore Mljet island and its lush national park area. Upon arrival meet your instructor for a private kayaking in Mljet Island National Park (2 h). A Greek settlement of Melita (honey) got its “sweet” name after the bees that lived in the vast forests of the island when the ancient Greeks first discovered it. Mljet is believed to be the paradise island of Ogygia from the famous epic poem ‘Odyssey’, where the nymph Calypso detained Odysseus for seven years.
