Daily itinerary

Welcome to Kenya! Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after clearing with Immigration and Customs formalities, you will be met by our Concierge Executive who will introduce you to your safari driver guide and begin your safari by driving down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Make a brief stop at a viewpoint and enjoy spectacular views of the valley below. Continue your drive across the Loita plains that are dotted with whistling acacia trees to the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at Tipilikwani Mara Camp in time for lunch.

Tipilikwani Mara Camp lies on the banks of River Talek overlooking the vast plains of the Masai Mara. The camp is decorated in the rich colors of Africa and original oil paintings and soft intimate lighting create a warm atmosphere in the lounge and dining areas. All tents are en-suite with views over the river.

There is time to relax after lunch before departing for an afternoon game drive in the reserve.

Spend the next two days game viewing in this wildlife haven.

Your driver guide will plan your days with you, which can be as active or as leisurely as you wish. You may decide to spend the whole day in the reserve with picnic lunches or enjoy a morning game drive and return to the camp for a leisurely lunch and time to relax before going out game viewing again in the cooler hours of the afternoon.

Masai Mara is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Acacia dotted plains, tree-lined rivers and woodlands are abundant with wildlife and an array of birdlife. Game viewing is spectacular year-round; you may see a pride of lions stalking their prey, observe a herd of elephant and their fascinating social structure, or see pods of hippo wallowing in the rivers.

The Mara plays host to one of the natural wonders of nature – The Great Wildebeest Migration. An estimated two million animals migrate in a year-round pattern through Tanzania and Kenya, following the rain. From around late July/August each year, large herds of wildebeest and zebra begin making dramatic river crossings and the grasslands of the Mara are covered by a mass of moving wildebeest as far as the eye can see, offering easy opportunity for crocodile and predators who are never far away. (This is an act of nature and movement of the animals varies slightly from year to year).

During your stay, you will also visit a traditional Maasai village. The Maasai are proud pastoralists and warriors. Spend time in the “Manyatta” and immerse yourself in one of earth’s oldest cultures. The ladies and children will entertain you with traditional songs and while at the village see how they go about their daily lives in a very traditional way like making fire with stones and sticks! All meals at the camp.

Optional Activity: Hot Air Balloon (Own Account) U$ 520 Per Person

Have an early morning wake up with a hot beverage and biscuits served in your tent.

Transfer to the balloon launch site. The balloon sets afloat at the first rays of sunrise, floating gently over the plains and giving a bird’s eye view of the game below.

After around one hour the balloon lands and nearby breakfast is already being prepared as glasses of bubbly toast your flight.
